My Book

Intro to writing the book here. (How it came to be?)

“A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO FORGIVENESS”

Thank you for accepting this gift of my first chapter.  This book is dedicated to all of the people who have had a hard time setting boundaries, letting go, and forgiving.   I believe that letting go begins with forgiveness.  Thank you for joining me as I share experiences that have been painful and yet sometimes funny…in hindsight.

I have been on an incredible journey of working through forgiveness of everyone and anyone.  This is my very first book.  I’ve had this book in me for quite some time.  Recently I met with a friend who is a two-time author and shared with her my intention to write a book.  She asked me to write a date when the book was launched.  I said, “November 18th!” completely out of the blue with no real concept of what it took to write a book.  She sweetly encouraged me to have it done.  FYI, at the time, it was July and nearly August.  And I immediately felt pressure and I procrastinated. I sought out help from book writing gurus, I google searched everything, and turned to anyone I knew who had written a book for advice. While some forms of help were incredibly generous and budget saving, some simply didn’t agree with my budget.  To date, I have spent $50, when I took an intro to book writing with a book writing coach.  This helped me with an outline. Over the past few months I have been focused on writing this first chapter for about 2-3 hours a week with a writing group I was introduced to online called ‘Shut Up and Write.’  Mondays and Thursdays 5am PST, I wake up before the sunrises and write with this group for two hours.

First, I am a stickler at being a woman of my word.  And I had to reconsider what this meant.  So I realized I didn’t say “my entire book” would be launched on November 18th.  And I love, love,   love, love, love, love, the example of one drop of the ocean is the entire ocean.  Well, one chapter of my book IS the entire book.  The intention is to have the entire book in June of 2020.

Ironically, I am forgiving myself immensely for not having a complete book written in 2 months the way that I have intended.  Writing a book is a lot of work.  It takes a lot of time and energy.  This journey is so real and interesting.  I do have about eight pages complete right now. But to be honest, it is a hot mess. I meditated on whether or not I should release the chapter completely anyway.  And my decision was, wait.  But release what I am most comfortable with for now.

Thank you for your patience.  More to come very soon.  Stay tuned.

FORGIVENESS EXERCISE 1:

DURING THE WANING MOON PHASE OF ANY MOON CYCLE, WRITE DOWN THE NAME OF THE PERSON OR SITUATION THAT YOU NEED TO RELEASE OR LET GO OF. SPECIFICALLY USE A BROWN PAPER BAG AND LEAD PENCIL.  WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING THIS PERSON DID TO HURT YOU AND BURN IT.  MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN A SAFE SPACE WHERE YOU WON’T BURN THE HOUSE DOWN OR ANYTHING CRAZY.  MAKE SURE YOU THEN PUT THE ASHES IN A PLACE THAT RELEASES IT FOR GOOD.  I PERSONALLY PREFER TO THROW IN DOWN A DRAIN.  AND ALLOW THE FLUSHING OF THE WATER OR DOWN THE DRAIN BE LITERALLY A SYMBOL OF RELEASING THE PERSON OR SITUATION DOWN FOR GOOD.

More words to come very soon.  Stay tuned.

To choose life, is to choose to forgive.
